With the growing trend in the campus relationships, statistics show that most if not all these don’t see the light of the day beyond the gate. Here is the breakdown on the common types of relationships exhibited in campus.
The wife and husband relationship, friends who benefit each other, sponsorship, the long distance and finally the Fridays’ one night stands.
The wife and husband relationships are common to students in the same campus. They live as couples in the campus hostels where the guy is the senior student, and the lady is mostly a fresher. The lady washes clothes and cooks for the guy while he reciprocates by providing shopping and pocket-money for the lady.
The friends as benefits relationship is mostly underrated but is common. This occurs within course mates where they all know that they can’t make to a serious relationship and is driven with lust. Although it’s not viewed much as relationship but the physical involvement during sex is reason enough to fit this category.
The sponsor relationships involves mostly the senior campus ladies with rich older men. The man provides money for the lady while she brings sex to the table. Most of the sponsors are married or bachelors who haven’t thought of starting their families. The cougar-cub is a vice versa of the above only that the sponsor is rich old lady.
The long distance relationships involve students in different campuses or when other partner is on holiday. They schedule for meet ups on weekends which makes it more expensive to support in terms of the logistics. The partners often are involved in different affairs over the week, and faithfulness is just a word to please the ear.
The one night stands relationships lasts not more that a day. They are sexually driven since they emanate from random interactions like in the parties. This relationship is dangerous because the ones involved may not think of protections since they are most times drunk. This leads to most of the spreads of the STD’s and even HIV Aids.
These are the common relationships evinced in the campus, and with more freedom among the students comes carelessness. Whether coupling at hostels, friends with benefits, sponsors and cougars, the long distance or one night stands, it’s clear that caution needs to be employed before throwing your heart to the campus ditch in the name of relationship.
